The Spirit Wind



Wolf is the name given to me by an Elder of the Onieda. He told me I walk the Red Road and listen to the Spirit Wind. Often alone as a Lone Wolf, my soul ran swiftly to accompany those who struggled. Often standing back as a Guardian Wolf, I watched and contemplated the ways of life. To learn why life was so for some and different for others. And often like a Provider Wolf, I gave freely of that which came to me through the Spirit; experience, wisdom, love, strength, hope, serenity, and freedom. And I shared all the material things that came into my hand with those who would accept. And often like Teacher Wolf, using analogies of the animal people, life presented in a different way than most are used to seeing it, and my own life to help others learn a better way.

With Wolf as the given name that described my external relation to life and Spirit; I chose Wolf running with the Spirit Wind to acknowledge my love for the Higher Power that allowed me to live through my own self destruction, so that I may teach others a better way of life and help them find the Red Road.

I run with the Spirit Wind in freedom of soul and body. I run with the Spirit Wind in response to the soul that cries in the voices I can hear. I run with the Spirit Wind in celebration of life.

I run into the wind of life. And seek the winds of change. I have run into the wind of war for the freedom and rights of those who were weak. I have run into the wind of destruction to help those who's homes and businesses were sought as food of life for the fire that wanted to live.

I run in the wind of the highway; my dance of the flying eagle. I run in the wind of the highway as a brother to others who ride in the wind in pursuit of freedom, serenity, and joy.

I run against the wind of social norm, and teach others to question the way they think. I run against the wind of acceptance, that others may find courage to be true to themselves. I run against the wind of expectation, that others may learn the limits of expecting.
